1. Who we are
This website and the courses on it are operated by Black Screen English LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States, trading as "Black Screen English".
- Legal entityBlack Screen English LLC
- State of formationWyoming
- Registered address30 N. Gould Street Suite R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA

- Websitewww.blackscreenenglish.com
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Black Screen English LLC. "You" means the person using the site or buying a course.
By using this website or buying a course, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
2. What we sell
We sell access to self-paced online English learning courses delivered entirely through this website. Each course consists of written lessons, exercises with automatic feedback, audio recordings, practice tests and model answers, depending on the course.
Our courses are digital services. There is no physical product, no printed book and nothing is posted to you.
We offer both free and paid courses. The courses we currently offer, what each one contains and the price of each are listed on our website, and those pages are the authoritative source. We may add, withdraw, rename or re-price courses at any time.
Changes to our course range or prices do not affect a course you have already bought. The price you paid and the access you were given at the time of purchase remain unchanged for the whole of your access period.
Our free courses are genuinely free and require no payment or card details. We recommend trying one before buying, so you can see how our lessons work.
3. Your account
To access a paid course you need an account. Accounts and logins are handled on our behalf by Outseta, our membership and billing provider.
You agree to give accurate details when you sign up, to keep your password confidential, and to tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using your account.
An account is for one individual. You may not share your login details, sell or transfer your account, or allow other people to use your access. If you need access for a school, class or team, please email us and we will arrange it properly.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are shown in US dollars (USD) and are the total you pay for that course.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number, expiry date or security code — those go directly to Stripe. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with your name and email address.
Every paid course is a single, one-time payment. We do not operate subscriptions. Nothing renews automatically and you will not be charged again unless you choose to buy another course or buy the same course again after your access has expired.
Depending on where you live, sales tax, VAT or an equivalent local tax may be added at checkout. If so, it will be shown to you before you confirm payment.
Your bank or card issuer may apply a currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fee. That fee is set by them, not by us, and we cannot refund it.
5. Access period and delivery
Access is granted immediately after your payment is confirmed. There is no waiting period and nothing is shipped.
Your access to a paid course lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase. At the end of that period your access to that course ends automatically. You will not be charged again, and you will not be automatically renewed.
If you would like to continue after 12 months, you can simply buy the course again at the price shown at that time.
Because access begins immediately, please read our Refund Policy before you buy. It explains when a refund is and is not available.
6. What you may and may not do
When you buy a course, we give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the course material for your own learning, for the length of your access period.
You may: study the lessons, complete the exercises, listen to the audio, and take notes for your own personal use.
You may not:
- share your account or password with anyone else;
- copy, download in bulk, record, re-upload or redistribute the lessons, audio or practice tests;
- resell, sublicense, rent or republish any part of the courses;
- use the material to teach paid classes or build a competing product without our written permission;
- use automated tools, scrapers or scripts to extract content from the site;
- attempt to bypass payment, access controls or the login system.
If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account, as described in section 11.
7. Intellectual property
All original lesson text, exercises, explanations, model answers, course structure, design, branding and the "Black Screen English" name belong to Black Screen English LLC or are used by us under licence. They are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Some course materials reference or reproduce third-party examination materials, recordings or extracts that remain the property of their respective owners. Those materials are included for educational and study purposes and are used under the terms available to us. Their respective rights holders retain all rights in them, and nothing in these terms transfers any ownership of that material to you.
Buying a course gives you a licence to study the material. It does not transfer ownership of anything to you.
If you believe any material on this site infringes your copyright, please contact us at bahy@blackscreenenglish.com and we will review it promptly.
8. No guarantee of results
Our courses are study and practice materials. They are prepared carefully and in good faith, but your results depend on your own effort, starting level, study time and many factors outside our control.
We do not guarantee that you will achieve any particular IELTS band score, exam result, grade or level of English. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise of a specific outcome.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the IELTS test or any organisation that owns, administers or co-owns the IELTS examination. References to IELTS are made only to describe what our preparation material is designed for.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the site available at all times, but we cannot promise uninterrupted access. The site may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control such as hosting, network or third-party provider failures.
We may improve, update, correct, reorganise or add to course content during your access period. Occasionally we may need to remove or replace a lesson or a recording. We will not make changes that substantially reduce the overall value of a course you have already paid for.
10. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it before purchasing.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms — for example by sharing your login, redistributing course content, or attempting to bypass access controls.
Where it is reasonable to do so, we will contact you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we close your account because of a clear and deliberate breach, you will not be entitled to a refund of the remaining access period.
You can stop using the site at any time. If you would like your account deleted, email us and we will remove it as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The courses are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties about the site and its content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost opportunities, exam fees, visa or immigration outcomes, travel costs, or loss of income arising from your use of, or inability to use, the courses.
In all cases, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the course in question.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example if we change how our courses work or if the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
Changes are not retrospective. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published at the time you bought the course.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of that state have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may bring proceedings in your country of residence where required.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, and these terms do not remove those rights.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms continue to apply.
15. Contact
Questions about these terms are welcome. Email bahy@blackscreenenglish.com or see our Contact page.
